Police publish weekly report: Around 1,800 fines issued per day

Tirana's Traffic Police have taken stock of the week we left behind.

In one week, 25 people were arrested or prosecuted, while a total of 12,500 fines were imposed, which is calculated at around 1,800 fines per day.

Over the past week, strict measures have been implemented to maintain order and road safety:

25 Arrests, detentions and criminal proceedings

• -9 people for driving under the influence of alcohol.

• -2 people for driving without a license.

• -10 people for violating traffic rules.

• 1 person for active corruption.

• – 1 person leaving the scene of the accident”

• -2 people were arrested by the Traffic Police services who were wanted.

Administrative measures:

• 12,551 administrative measures imposed, an average of 1,793 per day.

• 25 measures for black windows.

• 730 measures for speeding above the allowed speed limits.

• 260 measures for using mobile phones while driving.

• ????743 measures for not wearing a seat belt.

• 427 measures for not giving priority to citizens.

• 9.105 measures for incorrect posture.

• 297 measures for non-use of protective helmet/high-visibility vest, Article 169.

Suspensions and blockages:

• 15 different cases.

They have received 2 times the maximum value:

• 31 drivers for speeding above the permitted speed limits.

• 8 drivers under the influence of alcohol.

 12 vehicles were blocked, including 6 for lack of documentation.
