The former chairman of Municipal Unit No. 8 in Tirana and head of the "Tirana" Association, Arben Tafaj, has passed away.

Tafaj accidentally fell from a height of 10 meters on Dajti Street. Due to his injuries, Tafaj died in the hospital.

According to the police, the 63-year-old man was drunk.

"On 03.12.2024, around 00:40, on Rrugë e Dajti, it is suspected that, being in a drunken state, he accidentally fell from a height of about 10 meters, in his apartment, citizen AT, 63 years old. As a result of the injuries received, this citizen died in the hospital" , the police announced.

Arben Tafaj led the "Tirana" association, a civil group that for all these years has promoted the values ​​of the city's cultural and civic heritage, which it has seen as an instrument to communicate with society and with important homologous community organizations.

Tafaj was also a candidate for mayor of Tirana in the local elections of 2015.
