The Supreme Court has registered the request of the head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha and his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, after the request for revocation of the security measure 'house arrest'.

According to information, the relator of the case will be Sokol Binaj.

Berisha and Malltezi are being investigated by the Special Prosecutor's Office for criminal offenses of corruption related to the privatization of the former sports club "Partizani" and the construction of 17 buildings there - a business that, according to SPAK, enabled Malltezi to earn 5.4 million euros from the construction.

Berisha described the accusations as political revenge orchestrated by Prime Minister Edi Rama and did not submit to the security measures. Through his lawyers, Berisha has also launched a legal battle to overturn the Court's decisions as illegal, arguing that the measures against him were imposed in violation of the Constitution.
