The hearing for the "5D" file is postponed, the Prosecution requests

The court hearing on the "5D" file has been postponed, after the Prosecution requested more time to review the defense attorneys' submissions and requests. The court has set a new date for the hearing of the case on February 18, at 12:00.

The main defendants in this case, former Municipality directors Redi Molla, Taulant Tushe and Mariglen Qato, have requested to be tried in a shortened procedure. The same request has been made by the other defendants, Enton Punavija, Julian Zanaj, Albano Janku and Nestor Muhamellari.

The investigations into the “5D” file began in March 2024, when SPAK ordered the arrest of three former directors, who are under the security measure of “prison arrest”. Meanwhile, five other defendants, including Deborah Keçi and Englatina Zere, are under the measure of “compulsory appearance”.

SPAK has charged Redian Molla and Mariglen Qato with charges of "passive corruption" and "failure to declare assets", while Taulant Tushes with the charge of "violation of equality in tenders". According to the investigation, Qato and Molla are the de facto owners of the company "5D", which has won 11 tenders from the Municipality in the period 2016-2022, also operating under the names "Igor Electric" and "Vas Construction".
