Today, the GJKKO Appeal is holding a hearing for the former mayor of Lushnja, Fatos Tushe, who is seeking freedom on the grounds that he has health problems.
He has denied the allegations against him. He also expressed his readiness to be released on bail. The appeal will decide whether the mayor will stay in the cell, or be released.
Tushe has stated that he has been suffering for years from heart disease, diabetes, gallstones with constant acute crises, from the lungs and is allergic / intolerant to certain foods.
Fatos Tushe was arrested for corruption by SPAK on charges of abusing the 240 million ALL tender of the irrigation canal of the two villages. Following his arrest, Prime Minister Edi Rama decided to dismiss him and expel him from the Socialist Party.
