55-year-old man from Kosovo arrested for attempting to smuggle 16,000 euros

A 55-year-old man from Kosovo has been criminally prosecuted after attempting to smuggle 16,000 euros undeclared into Albania.

He was caught at the Morina border crossing, while traveling in an "Audi" vehicle.

During the search, 16,000 euros were found, which the 55-year-old with the initials GM was attempting to bring into Albania, without declaring it in accordance with the laws in force.

A 55-year-old man (a Kosovar citizen) is being prosecuted for attempting to bring 16,000 euros into Albania without declaring it.

The amount of money is seized.

The Border Police Services have increased their vigilance to crack down on illegalities at the border. In this context, in cooperation with the customs authorities, at the entrance to the Republic of Albania, an Audi vehicle driven by a Kosovar citizen, GM, was moved to the second line for detailed inspection.

During the search, 16,000 euros were found, which this citizen was attempting to bring into Albania, without declaring it in accordance with the laws in force.

Following the procedural actions in the case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated at large for the Kosovar citizen GM, 55 years old, resident in Kosovo, for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border".

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Kukës, for further action.
