He tried to avoid prison with false identity, Albanian arrested in Germany

A 35-year-old Albanian man was arrested by German authorities on February 11 after attempting to avoid a previous prison sentence by using a false identity during immigration control.

According to German media, although the Albanian had a valid passport, he claimed not to have the Italian residence permit currently. Federal police verified his identity through fingerprints and discovered he was already known to authorities by a different name.

It also turned out that a warrant had been issued against him by the Bremen Public Prosecution since 2019. The Albanian was sentenced to several years in prison for drug trafficking and, after serving part of his sentence, he was deported to Albania. At the time of his deportation, he was warned that he would face re-arrest if he returned to Germany.

He has already been placed in handcuffs and faces German authorities for violating his deportation order and illegally returning to the country.
