Accused of deconstructing OFL operations, Appeal upholds Artan Shkembit

The Tirana Court of Appeals has upheld the decision to suspend the former deputy director of Operation Force of Law, Artan Shkëmbi, who was initially investigated for "leaking secret data" and "corruption".

The rock was suspended after information arrived from German justice, which had sought cooperation in the investigation of two Albanian traffickers, Aleksandër Prronin and Klaudio Vukaj.

According to the information of the German justice, it is suspected that Shkëmbi provided him with information and direct data regarding the investigation that was being carried out against them.

Court Notice:

On 21.07.2021, in the Court of Appeals of Tirana, a trial was held regarding the imposition of a security measure for the person under investigation A.SH, suspected of committing the criminal offenses "Disclosure of secret acts or data" and "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions ”, provided by article 295 / a and 259 of the Criminal Code. Citizen A.SH is a police officer and is suspected of extracting and providing information to persons interested in the Deepsee system.

Regarding the above, the Court of the Tirana Judicial District with decision no. 459/4 Act, dated 15.07.2021 has decided:

-Repetition of prohibitive personal security "Suspension of the exercise of a duty or public service" for the person under investigation A.SH.

The case on appeal was examined on the basis of the complaint made by the person under investigation A.SH.

Tirana Court of Appeal with decision no. 656 dated 28.07.2021 decided:

- Leaving in force the decision no. 459/4 Act, dated 15.07.2021 of the Tirana Judicial District Court.
