The Civil Guard has disbanded a criminal organization dedicated to the cultivation and distribution of marijuana that allegedly detained and tortured two people in a house in the Valencian town of Náquera.
According to Spanish media , the operation resulted in the release of one of the hostages, the other a fugitive, and with six arrested persons, of different nationalities, accused of illegal detention, criminal organization, drug trafficking, forgery of documents and energy fraud electrical.
The investigation, which is still open, began in September 2020, when agents assisted a man of Albanian nationality who had serious injuries. The victim testified that he was abducted and tortured in a house in the city of Valencia, but had managed to escape from the kidnappers. He also denounced that the gang was holding a second person.
The Civil Guard entered the house, in fact, found a second abducted man, in a room tied to a chair and with signs of violence. During the search, they found signs of a marijuana plantation.
The Anti-Heritage Crimes Team, together with agents from the Reserve and Security Group and the Civil Guard Kennel Service, deployed a large-scale operation on 14 July, released this Tuesday, and conducted six home searches in the Valencian municipalities of Náquera, Masamagrell , Quart de Poblet, Burjassot and in the Murcian town of Alcantarilla.
The operation resulted in the arrest of a total of six men: one of Moroccan nationality, another Colombian (both 36 years old) and four others of Albanian nationality, two of them 30 years old, another 33 and a last 50. Five of the six detainees have entered jail, among them two abductees, who worked for the criminal gang that investigators suspect took revenge on them for taking a piece of cultivated marijuana.
Agents intervened with a vehicle, a frequency blocker and found various forged national identity documents, 43 kilograms of vacuum-packed, ready-to-sell marijuana buds, 1,100 marijuana plants and more than 148,000 euros in cash.
