Despite the pressure, Kurti against the association: Internationals argue why they are looking for him
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, continues with his stance against the creation of the association of municipalities with a Serbian majority, even though international pressure has increased significantly.
In an interview for RTK2, he said that "he does not consider it necessary to create an Association, but that he is ready for discussions on the rights of non-majority communities".
"I am ready for talks on the rights of minorities, non-majority communities, I am ready for that. But you must understand that it is very important that those who want more rights than Ahtisaari's plan gives them bear the burden of arguing why they need more.
Ahtisaari received the Nobel Peace Prize, what would complement Ahtisaari's plan, what are the arguments for its flaws. The burden of the argument should be on those who demand something else or something more", said Kurti.
The Prime Minister has shown that when he was first introduced to the proposal known as 'Franco-German', he believed in the agreement.
"To be completely clear, of course also honest, on September 9 I read that proposal, but I did not have a written document from Lajcak's 'iPad'. They were together with Jens Plotner and Emmanuel Bonn, the envoys from Paris and Berlin. I immediately noticed that we finally have a proposal for an agreement", Prime Minister Kurti added.
