Border police chief who raped customs officer in Kapshtica, suspended for 3 days

Korça Police has reacted after footage circulated in the media, where the head of the Border Police Station in Kapshtica, Arbër Alimadhi, is seen raping a customs officer.

The event, which occurred on January 6, 2025, was filmed by security cameras and made public via social media.

Through a press release, the Korça Police announced that Alimadhi has been suspended from duty for a period of only three days, while a disciplinary investigation has been launched by the Directorate of Professional Standards in the State Police.

To ensure a full and independent investigation, the Director General of the State Police has ordered the immediate transfer of the chief of border police from the Kapshtica Border Crossing Point.

Citizen LM, the customs officer who was raped, has refused to file a report with the relevant institutions. The Police Supervision Agency has also initiated investigative actions regarding this case.

This incident has shocked public opinion and highlighted issues related to the use of violence by law enforcement authorities, while investigations continue to fully elucidate the incident.
