Four police officers in Kosovo have been suspended from duty after the tragic event, where three days ago Sokol Halili shot his pregnant wife to death.
The 35-year-old woman was shot with a gun in front of the maternity ward, while the couple is said to be in the process of divorce.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xelal Sveçla, has announced the suspension of the officers through a post on Facebook. According to him, the findings so far will be sent to the prosecutor's office.
"I have just been informed that the investigations so far have shown that there are well-founded suspicions for the criminal offenses of "Misuse of official position and authority" and "Forgery of an official document". On this occasion, IPK has recommended the suspension of 4 police officers from the Police Station in Lipjan, while the Regional Directorate of Prishtina has implemented this recommendation. Also, the findings so far will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office for criminal treatment" , Sveçla wrote.
