DP allies in a line for local elections: To compete with a common candidate

Allies of the Democratic Party such as Fatmir Mediu of the Republicans, Agron Duka of the Agrarian Environmentalist Party and Dashamir Shehi of the Movement for National Development demand that the entire opposition factor appear in the 2023 local elections with a single candidate. According to them, this is the only way to win against Edi Rama.

Allies of DP emphasize that if there will not be a common candidate from the ranks of the opposition, then it is expected to happen again on March 6, when the possibility of Rama retaining the majority of the municipality would be very great.

The head of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, said in an interview on MCN a few days ago that there are two ways to determine the candidates, the first through open elections that go beyond the membership of the DP, and the second option through a poll by a reliable institution. 

"We meet with Mr. Duka and Mr. Shehu periodically. On March 6, we said that we are not part of the division and asked for open elections, where both parties are involved. The opposition has an obligation to come up with a candidate. How is it resolved, through shopping? I don't think it works like that anymore. There are two ways, or with open elections where citizens also vote. There is a concern that the socialists will come to vote. If the SP manipulates an internal process, then the opposition is unable to face the local elections! The second could be a survey by a credible institute, to find the best candidate. We discussed today with colleagues.

Mr. Shehu and I made it public on behalf of the Alliance for Change. We will also discuss with other parties, whether they are in Parliament or not. Do not forget that there are also small parties that have remained outside the Parliament as a result of the behavior of the big parties. If we were divided in the election, we did a favor to Edi Rama. The division in the mayoral elections is a defeat for the Albanian citizen. It is important not to be excluded. Raising the discussion should be done at a technical level", said Mediu.

According to Mediu, the opposition should give the opportunity to candidates outside politics, stressing that a civic profile can defeat Veliaj in the capital.

Kreu i Partisë Ambientaliste Agrare, Agron Duka thotë për Report Tv se opozita duhet të dalë me një kandidat të përbashkët për zgjedhjet vendore 2023. Duka tha se nëse nuk dilet me një kandidat të përbashkët rrezikon të përsëritet e njëjta situatë si në zgjedhjet e pjesshme të 6 marsit, ku të ndahet vota mes kandidatëve të opozitës.

“Mendimi është që nëse do dalin kandidatë nga primaret e Berishës, vetëm dhe jo me konsensusin gjithë opozitës, mund të rrezikojmë në përsëritje të situatës më 6 mars. Në rast të tillë do ndahet vota. Të bën të pamundur të fitosh përballë një kandidaturë të fortë të PS. Vetëm nëse bëhen primare të hapura, nëse zgjidhet një kandidaturë e vetme nga e gjithë opozita, përfshirë këtu edhe partitë e vogla, vetëm atëherë mund të kemi shpresa që të fitojmë zgjedhjet vendore”, tha Duka.

Nga ana tjetër, kryetari i Lëvizjes për Zhvillim Kombëtar, Dashamir Shehi, ka treguar formulën që i ka propozuar PD-së për bashkimin e opozitës.

Në një intervistë për Euroneës Albania, Shehi u shpreh se janë dy elementë që ndihmojnë në bashkimin e opozitës, lufta kundër Edi Ramës dhe dalja me një kandidat në zgjedhjet lokale të vitit 2023.

“Unë pres që këto ditë të ndodhë një formulë bashkëpunimi. Unë për vete së bashku me disa kolegë të tjerë, i kemi propozuar PD një formulë. Dy elementë na bashkojnë, lufta ndaj kësaj qeverie, lufta kundër Edi Ramës dhe të zgjedhim një kandidat të përbashkët në zgjedhjet lokale.

Unë them të vendosëm një emërues  mbi të cilën të qëndrojnë të gjithë partitë. Unë them se kjo është e mjaftueshme nëse duam të luftojmë Ramën”- theksoi Shehi.

Meta: Opozita të dalë me kandidatë të përbashkët

Kryetari i Partisë së Lirisë, Ilir Meta thotë se opozita duhet të dalë me kandidatë të përbashkët në të gjitha bashkitë e vendit, për zgjedhjet e ardhshme lokale.

Në një deklaratë për mediat, Meta deklaroi se kjo është më e mira për opozitën, në kushtet kur vendi udhëhiqet nga mafia.

“Po. Opozita duhet të dalë në të gjithë Shqipërinë me kandidatë të përbashkët. Kjo është më e mira për situatën, për arsye se jem në kushtet e një shteti mafioz. Në kushtet e një shteti mafioz, opozita duhet të paraqitet sa më e bashkuar, sepse kuptohet në kushte të tjera, sa më shumë kandidatë, aq më mirë për qytetarët. Por nuk jemi në kushte normale, demokratike”, theksoi Meta.

Berisha

Kujtojmë se lryetari i Partisë Demokratike, Sali Berisha është pyetur më herët nga gazetarët nëse të gjithë si demokratë do të dalin me një kandidat të vetëm në zgjedhjet e ardhshme.
