Touching messages on the 30th birthday of the late rapper Mac Miller
Those who knew and loved Mac Miller are paying tribute to the late rapper on his 30th birthday.
The "Good News" musician was 26 years old when he died of an accidental overdose on September 7, 2018, just one month after the release of 'Swimming', his fifth studio album critically acclaimed.
On Wednesday, close friends and associates, including the Thundercat, paid tribute to the star.
"I hope that on your birthday, the clarity, the places and spaces where you have always wanted to go, see and feel - I hope you feel this endlessly," Thundercat wrote in a letter published in Rolling Stone. "I hope you can see farther than you have ever seen before. I hope wherever you are, it's funny. It has to be funny. If it's not funny, it's bad."
The bassist wrote that he has taken Miller's advice to "sit down and let this happen" and that he is grateful to have known the star whose life "changed" his life.
"I hope that wherever you are, you are still changing the lives of others," he wrote. " I'm really wish I could hear the soundtrack where you're going to create it because I'm so sure it 's intense, extreme. On this birthday. I hope you get everything you want, everything you think you want, "everything you did not want or wanted… I hope you get it all. I hope it was as extreme as it was here. Because it was fun."
