"Women Economic Forum" takes place for the first time in Albania

Yesterday, the "Women Economic Forum (WEF)", Balkans Edition, took place for the first time in Albania, an event that brought together some of the most successful entrepreneurs, leaders, speakers, diplomats, policy-makers and professionals in various fields from the region and the world.

A group of G100 representative women held a tour of meetings with successful women from the region in 8 cities of the Balkans: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, and was finalized in Albania with the WEF coming as an initiative of the entrepreneur, Mrs. Rafaela Rica with the support of the Minister of State for Enterprise Protection and the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).

The Women Economic Forum is the largest global forum of women entrepreneurs and leaders worldwide. WEF focuses on expanding business opportunities and increasing the global influence of women through the creation of new contacts. The main goal is to ensure the inclusion, security, economic and social empowerment of women globally, addressing gender gaps and achieving gender equality.

Përgjatë tre sesioneve dhe paneleve me ekspertë të fushës, çështje të tilla si bashkëpunimet e biznesit mes grave në rajon, rëndësia e arsimit profesional për fuqizimin ekonomik të grave dhe mbështetja e të rinjve në sipërmarrje, ishin kryefjala e eventit në Tiranë.

“Siç e dimë në Shqipëri dhe në rajon gratë nuk kanë shumë mundësi punësimi prandaj është e rëndësishme të hapim shtigje të reja për të ardhmen:

Së pari, si të përmirësohet punësimi i grave - aftësitë që ju duhen për tu punësuar në rajon: sipas të dhënave të Regional Cooperation Council  (RCC), vetëm 40% e grave janë të punësuara, por mbi 23%kanë punë të pasigurta. Pyetja është se si t'i kthejmë aftësitë e tyre në aftësi të dobishme për tregjet e punës në rajonin tonë.

Së dyti, si t'i ndihmojmë gratë të hapin bizneset e tyre dhe si të kenë sukses? Vetëm 27% e sipërmarrësve dhe  14.2% e menaxherëve kryesorë të kompanive në Ballkanin Perëndimor janë gra.

Së treti, mendoj se ne duhet të inkurajojmë gratë dhe vajzat që punojnë në shkencë, teknologji, inxhinieri dhe lidhje digjitale. Pa përmirësimin e aftësive të grave në TIK dhe inkurajimin e inovacionit për gratë dhe vajzat, vendeve tona u mungon një potenciali madh për zhvillim.”-

Following the main mission of the Women Economic Forum, the event ended with the launch of the WeGrow project, the first accelerator dedicated to women and girls' startups in Albania. The representatives of the 25 selected projects had the opportunity to present their ideas in front of other women entrepreneurs, leaders from all over the world.
