Consultations in the MV for the French proposal, VMRO-DPMNE strongly opposes: The language is not guaranteed

Consultations in the MV for the French proposal, VMRO-DPMNE strongly opposes:

In North Macedonia, consultations continue on the French proposal for the start of negotiations for membership in the European Union.

Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski has considered the proposal acceptable and will meet today with the leader of the Alliance for Albanians, Ziadin Sela.

Earlier, he met with the coalition partners in the government, some of whom have already spoken positively about the proposal.

Meanwhile, VMRO-DPMNE strongly opposes it. According to VMRO-DPMNE language is not guaranteed.

"The government boasts that the language is guaranteed, but it is contested, while Bulgaria will write our texts. The Macedonian language is not guaranteed with the proposal that the government boasts about.

The official language of a candidate country for the EU is recognized in chapter 34. The Macedonian language is not in the proposal, and there is a risk that when chapter 34 is opened and closed, it will be disputed" , the reaction says.
