"Avoid this country", Croatian MFA warns citizens: Be careful when
The Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on Croatians to be careful and to be informed before traveling to the Serbian state, due to the treatment and attitude towards Croatian citizens in Serbia.

"It is recommended to postpone all non-essential travel, be vigilant, follow the current situation and obtain detailed information before traveling due to inappropriate and unfounded treatment by the authorities of the Republic of Serbia towards Croatian citizens," the ministry's announcement states.

Croatian citizens are advised to avoid places with large gatherings of people.

In case of need, Croatian citizens have the right to seek assistance at any time from the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in the Republic of Serbia.

We recall that Croatia earlier in the day sent a note of protest to Serbia regarding the treatment of five Croatian citizens in Serbia.

Five Croatian citizens, representatives of non-governmental organizations who were participating in a workshop organized by Erste Stiftung in Belgrade, spent a good part of the night in police custody and were deported from Serbia in the morning and banned from entering the country for a year.

The document provided as a reason for deportation mentions "protecting the security of the Republic of Serbia and its citizens."
