Erdogan’s Visit to Serbia Postponed

The visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Serbia, announced for August 29, was postponed, Tanjug news agency reported on Tuesday citing the Turkish Embassy in Belgrade.

Erdogan would not arrive in Serbia during August or September due to the need to “synchronize the dates”, it was stated to the news agency in Turkish Embassy.

The media reported earlier that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Erdogan would ceremonially start the works on construction of the highway connecting Belgrade and Sarajevo, which should be constructed by a Turkish company.

Vucic said that on Sunday that Erdogan would visit Serbia, but he failed to specify the date.

When asked if it was true that he and Erdogan would be present together at the start of work on Belgrade - Sarajevo highway, Vucic replied: “It would be logical. He will come, it will be ok”.
