EU Slates New Round of Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Discussions Uncertain due to Pristina’s Firm Stance
EU Special Representative for Kosovo-Serbia Miroslav Lajcak has slated a new round of talks for Monday, September 28 to discuss mutual financial claims and property, while talks on the creation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) will not be the subject of dialogue this time either.
Lajcak, however, said that this issue too must be resolved as part of a comprehensive accord, as agreed at leaders’ meetings, but Pristina has already replied that Kosovo does not accept that as a topic.
Radio Free Europe reports, quoting its sources in Brussels, that regardless of sending an invitation for resuming the dialogue, talk resumption remains under a question mark because the information came from Pristina that there still isn’t any confirmation that its delegation will attend the new round of talks.
According to EU sources, the Brussels side has problems with the position of the Kosovo delegation which now “does not want to discuss issues about which dialogue has already been agreed, as confirmed during the last meeting between Vucic and Hoti” when both men said that they will discuss the ZSO at subsequent meetings.
