Final Preliminary Results of Montenegrin Elections Announced

The State Electoral Commission (DIK) of Montenegro, on Monday, announced the election results on the basis of 100% of counted ballots and based on which the individually most votes, 35.06%, was won by the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) of Milo Djukanovic.

Second in line is the conservative opposition coalition For the Future of Montenegro, rallied around the Democratic Front (DF), which won 32.55% of the vote.

In third place is yet another opposition coalition, Peace Is Our Nation, with 12.53% of the vote.

Also in fourth place is another opposition bloc, the pro-western coalition Black on White with 5.53% of the vote.

The parties of minorities that have also entered parliament are the Bosniak Party and two Albanian coalitions followed by the Social Democrats and the Social Democratic Party of Montenegro (SDP), two parts of the once united party.

The final results, with the distribution of mandates, DIK should announce in 15 days at the latest from the date of the holding of the elections.

A total of 540,026 voters were registered to vote in parliamentary elections.
