FM Dacic Claims Central African Republic Has Withdrawn Kosovo Recognition, Pristina Denies
The Central African Republic is the 14th country that has announced that it no longer recognizes the independence of Kosovo, stated Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic for the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS) on Saturday.
Dacic showed a diplomatic memo that he claims he received from the Central African Republic, in which the country stated that it does not recognize Kosovo. The Kosovo authorities, however, claim that the Central African Republic still recognizes its independence.
Dacic said that the note states that the Central African Republic supports Serbia’s sovereignty and rule of law, as well as that it supports the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
He also said that “there is another country” that has passed a decision to withdraw its recognition of Kosovo, but that he would not give its name for a month or to “in order to irritate representatives of the international community.”
Kosovo official: It is Serbian propaganda, doesn’t matter what Dacic says. Jetlir Zyberaj, an advisor to the Kosovo Minister of Foreign Affairs, has said that Dacic’s statement is Serbian propaganda.
Zyberaj said that is unimportant what Dacic says because it is common knowledge “how his deceptions” have fared in the past.
He also said that the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in constant contact with all the countries that have recognized Kosovo, as well as that “Dacic’s propaganda” does not have much influence on developments in the international community.
