Former German Chancellor: Admit Serbia into EU First, then Solve Kosovo Issue

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder who was part of the conference “World Mind” in Belgrade, said that "it seems to him that the easiest solution would be to admit Serbia to the EU right away and then resolve the Kosovo issue".

Vucic replied to him that “unfortunately, this won’t happen”.

“I will propose new solutions in September on how to solve the problem of borders and a common market,” Vucic added.

Serbian president noted that “no one will drag Serbia into the European Union only to see it resolve its internal problems afterward”.

Schroeder is an adviser to Serbian president and president of the shareholder committee of North Stream company in majority ownership of Russian Gazprom.
