Germany, France Insist Serbia and Kosovo should Restart Negotiations

German and French Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas and Jean-Yves Le Drian, respectively, said that it was time for the restart of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina with the goal of achieving a sustainable, overall, and legally-binding agreement that would regulate all open issues and contribute to regional stability.

In the joint text that was published on the same day in Belgrade-based Blic daily, Kosovo-based Koha Ditore daily and KoSSev web portal, Maas and Le Drian stated that Germany and France were ready to offer strong political, diplomatic and economic support to the special envoy for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina Miroslav Lajcak and his team.

“In cooperation with Serbia and Kosovo, we are determined to remove all remaining obstacles. The unresolved situation between the two countries remained destabilization factor for the whole Western Balkans, which had security importance for the whole of Europe. It is disturbing necessary economic development and political progress”, the two Ministers stated
