Grenell Denies EUobserver Report that the US Supports Territorial Exchange

The US president’s special envoy for Kosovo Richard Grenell denied reports that the United States remains open to the possibility of an exchange of territories between Serbia and Kosovo (see V.I.P. 6796), news agencies reported.

Grenell Tweeted that this was fake news, commenting on the report in the EUobserver.

That article said that the US does not want to exclude the possibility of an exchange of territory between Kosovo and Serbia, despite opposition from Germany.

Grenell added in the Tweet that Euobservier never called him or wrote to ask for a comment.

He said that he favors the solution that both sides agree on and is focused on economic development, not politics.

The misunderstanding might have happened because EUobserver tagged Grenell on Twitter in a preview of the story even though the statement was made by the Secretary of State's special envoy Matthew Palmer.
