Haradinaj to meet Merkel on June 6 in Berlin

Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said that he would meet with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel on June 6 in Berlin.

He did not specify what could be the reason for the meeting and whether someone else would take part in the meeting, and Kosovo Government announced that they would visit Germany at the invitation of Bundestag and discuss renewing of the dialogue with Belgrade, canceling of the tariffs on Serbian commodities and visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens.

Haradinaj said for Kosovo-based media that the meeting of the leaders of Western Balkan countries at the end of April with Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron was historical for Kosovo and no one could say anything negative about this meeting, referring to the assessment of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci how Europe showed weakness and lack of unity at the meeting.

He denied that visa liberalization for Kosovo was conditioned by canceling increased tariffs for commodities from Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina during this meeting.
