in the third quarter ten out of twelve regions in Albania experienced a decline in the number of births compared to the same period of 2018. Albania’s total population in January 2019 amounted to 2.86 million.

INSTAT data: Newborns in Albania down 9.9% in the third quarter of 2019

The number of births in Albania in the third quarter of 2019 decreased by 9.9 percent year on year, the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) revealed on Thursday. According to INSTAT data, a total of 7,403 births were registered in Albania in the third quarter of 2019.

In the third quarter, the number of deaths registered was 4,716, marking a decrease of 5.1 percent year on year. The number of births surpassed by 2,687 the number of deaths. Additionally, in the third quarter ten out of twelve regions in Albania experienced a decline in the number of births compared to the same period of 2018. Albania’s total population in January 2019 amounted to 2.86 million.
