Joint Slovenian, Serbian Government Session Held in Novi Sad

The deadlock in the enlargement policy of the European Union (EU) is unproductive and does not contribute to regional stability, which is why Slovenia advocates resuming the enlargement process while respecting the rule of law, Slovenian Prime Minister Marijan Sarec declared in Novi Sad.

Following a joint session of the governments of Serbia and Slovenia, Sarec said that the EU must have a proactive approach because the entire region belongs in the EU, without alternative.

He added that Slovenia wants enlargement and the application of the rule of law and announced that his country will continue supporting Serbia on that path.

Sarec added that representatives of the two countries signed a protocol of cooperation between police forces in the area of migration governance and that other important topics of discussions included agriculture and rural development.
