Kosovo Parliament to Hold Constitutive Assembly on December 24

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has scheduled a constitutive session of the seventh Kosovo parliament assembly for December 24, Kosovo media report.

At this session, MPs will verify the mandates of newly elected MPs, of elected Parliament speakers and of five deputy speakers.

Leaders of the Self-Determination Movement (LVV) and Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) Albin Kurti and Isa Mustafa failed to reach a coalition agreement on Wednesday.

Kurti and Mustafa agreed to intensify meetings in the days to come in order to reach an accord, LDK spokesman Besijan Mustafa declared.

The media speculate that the Kosovo president post is the stumbling block that prevents these parties from reaching an accord.
