Late evening meeting of Kosovo leaders produces no change of position
Politiko.al
Kosovo leaders gathered on Tuesday evening for yet another ad hoc meeting, but the conclusion of this last meeting is that the government will not lift the tax decision, Serbian-language portal Kossev reports.
In addition to Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, the meeting in one restaurant in Pristina was also attended this evening by the foreign minister, minister of trade, interior and infrastructure – Bexhet Pacolli, Endrit Salla, Ekrem Mustafa and Palj Ljekaj.
Following the meeting, Ramush Haradinaj addressed the media, calling the US to understand the position of Kosovo and his coalition partners to remain united and endure in their decision not to lift taxes.
Haradinaj also added that his determination is neither courage nor arrogance and that, after twenty years, he wants to resolve this situation created by Serbia.
However, in a RTSH program on Tuesday, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci asked whether a couple of millions of dollars of damage inflicted to Serbia is worth deteriorating relations between Kosovo and the US.
