Naom Chomsky Writes to Vucic: Enable IFDT to Choose Unbiased, Competent Board

Famous US intellectual Noam Chomsky, send a personal letter to Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic and ask him to enable the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory (IFDT) "to form an unbiased and competent Managing Board," N1 reported on Thursday.

He also asked Vucic to facilitate "a transparent and adequate procedure in electing a new director."

Chomsky joined over 400 academicians and professors from the most prestigious universities around the world, who publicly supported IFDT in its protest over a man imposed on them as a new Managing Board and acting director.

In this letter, Chomsky wrote to Vucic that he was worried about "this exceptional Institute being targeted by the regime“. He added that IFDT's concerns over poor choice were justified because it "will have damaging consequences to its autonomous work."
