“One does not Negotiate, but Signs in the White House”, Serbian

One does not go to a meeting of the representatives of Belgrade and Pristina in the White House to negotiate, but to “sign” there”, a jurist, university professor and former politician Kosta Cavoski, a veteran among the nationalists in Serbian politics, said on Tuesday.

“It is being negotiated elsewhere, and it is being signed with President of the United States”, Cavoski, a member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, said at a panel discussion in Belgrade organized by the conservative movement Dveri.

Cavoski said that the Serbian authorities were now ready to recognize the independence of Kosovo on the condition of exchanging the territories.

Serbia, however, must not give up Kosovo, “especially not in a written form by recognizing the independent state of Kosovo Albanians after receiving some minor concessions. What was taken by force, sooner or later will be returned by force”, Cavoski said.

The leader of the Statehood Movement of Serbia Slobodan Samardzic said at the same panel discussion that the meeting in Washington would discuss “what and how to give Vucic so that he could manipulate the public” when it comes to Serbia’s relations towards Kosovo.

Vucic, concretely, “failed in the past period to convince the Serbian public that the recognition of Kosovo was the right solution and now he is seeking an exit strategy for it”, said Samardzic, a university professor and former Kosovo minister in Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica’s government.
