Oppositon Announces Boycott of All Municipality Assemblies in Belgrade

Head of the MP caucus Alliance for Serbia (SzS) in the Belgrade Assembly, Nikola Jovanovic, called on Monday on all the councilors of the opposition to, in accordance with the so-called Agreement with the people, boycott the work of all assemblies of Belgrade municipalities, since the authority of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) did not respond to reasoned criticism, but rather only to pressure.

“The SzS councilors are boycotting the sessions of the municipality assemblies in Belgrade, and I call also on all the representatives signees of the Agreement with the people to, in accordance with the agreement, set to boycott the local assemblies in the capital city”, Jovanovic told reporters.

It is not clear, however, whether this proposal also pertains to the only two municipalities in Belgrade in which the SNS is not in power - Stari Grad and New Belgrade.
