PM Rama: We have not consulted EU delegation on legalization of cannabis

In a live video conversation with journalists on Facebook, Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke among other issues of the on-going consultations to proceed with the legalization of cannabis sativa in the country for medical purposes. “We have not consulted the European Union delegation on this part,” Rama said, adding “we have had a consultation with experts in regards to introducing the processing of medical cannabis to the country’s economic life.”

Rama also answered journalists’ questions in regards to a potential Socialist Party-Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) coalition. “In politics, never say never. But I see no way of uniting with the President’s party,” Rama said.

In related news, Socialist Movement for Integration Chair Monika Kryemadhi said after today’s meeting of the extra-parliamentary opposition that with this initiative the Prime Minister only sought to diverge attention from poverty in the country. “As always, Rama is the ridiculous chief deceiver… This is a way to diverge attention from poverty. But this is nothing more than yet another way to further impoverish the poor and to turn the middle [class] into poor,” she said.
