Reeker: the US prepared to get involved in dialogue

Acting US deputy state secretary for Europe and Euro-Asia Philip Reeker declared that the US is prepared to get involved in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue but that, prior to that, both sides need to decide that they are prepared to resume the dialogue.

Reeker told Voice of America (VOA) that this was the topic of discussion with Mike Pompeo because the US wants to see progress.

He said that, however, the US cannot achieve that instead of Serbia and Kosovo, because they need to decide together that they are ready to return to the dialogue.

Reeker believes that there is “goodwill” on both sides to find a solution and contribute to the stability and prosperity of the Western Balkans and therefore urged both sides to return to negotiations.
