Return of Belgrade-Pristina Flights, Air Serbia does not Apply for Job

The representatives of the Lufthansa airline and the Serbian Ministry of the Economy have signed, on Monday in Berlin, a letter of intent on reintroducing flights between Belgrade and Pristina and the Serbian airline Air Serbia did not wish to apply for these flights since, according to the claim of President AleksandarVucic, it would thus implicitly recognize the independence of Kosovo.

Flights between Belgrade and Pristina will be reintroduced after 20 years, and the Director of the Office for Kosovo, Marko Djuric, said that the first planes could begin flying between the two cities after Pristina abolishes the tariffs which it has introduced on products from Serbia, which is also the condition for the renewal of dialogue.

He said that the authorities in Belgrade had officially informed UNMIK and KFOR of this intention; UNMIK and KFOR are, according to Resolution 1244 and the Military-Technical Agreement in charge of the control and coordination, on behalf of Serbia, of the air space of Kosovo.
