Thaci Demands Proposal of a New PM of the Ruling Coalition

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci requested of the leaders of the ruling coalition PAN and Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) led by Kadri Veseli that the ruling coalition should propose a new Prime Minister after the resignation of Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.

This was opposed by both Veseli and Haradinaj, the leader of Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK). He said that he would join the request of the opposition Democratic Alliance of Kosovo (LDK) and Self-Determination Movement for dissolution of Kosovo Parliament i.e. organization of extraordinary elections.

Haradinaj said that AAK would take part in the elections alone, but that they were close to some parties, such as Social Democratic Initiative (NISMA) led by Fatmir Limaj, Social Democratic Party of Kosovo (PSD) led by Shpend Ahmeti and Alliance for the New Kosovo (AKR) led by Behgjet Pacolli.

MP from Self-Determination Movement Shemsi Syla said that they were against the Thaci’s initiative that the ruling coalition should propose a new Prime Minister.
