Tim Judah: Small Chances for Serbia-Kosovo Dialogue to Resume Before Year-end

Chances are small that the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina will resume this year, stated Tim Judah, British journalist, and expert on Kosovo and the region, Pristina press reported over the weekend.

He believes that if Kosovo elections are held in the fall, it will likely take several months to create a new government, and by that time Serbia will be nearing elections.

Judah stated that even if the issue of taxes, which are the reason for the suspension of the negotiations, is eliminated from the topics of the negotiations, he doesn’t think anything could happen for a while.

He said that losing time is bad news and reminded that 20 years after the war, Kosovo is still held prisoner by its heritage.
