U.S. funds $7mln-worth project to increase Albania’s cybernetic security

The United States will fund a $7mln-worth project that aims to increase the national security capacities and develop these strong security and civilian institutions in Albania, the U.S. Embassy said over social media on Saturday. “The United States Government is proud to support one of Albania’s top national security priorities by funding the Cyber Network Solution.

This $7 million USD project supports efforts to increase the capacity of national security services and develop strong security and civilian institutions,” the U.S. Embassy said. “Last year, Albania received $3.5 million to generate a cyber-solution within the Ministry of Defence.

Those funds will serve as the foundation for the successful implementation of this complementary expansion of the cyber program.” Further, the U.S. Embassy said, “This year’s project will assist the government of Albania in monitoring and protecting the critical infrastructure of government information, as well as will fund an initial vulnerability assessment, updated hardware and software, and training for new users.”
