US Ambassador Godfrey: No One’s Assistance to Serbia Should Politicized

One should be grateful to anyone who is willing to help another country and gratitude should not be politicized, nor should aid be used in playing geopolitics, stated US Ambassador to Belgrade Anthony Godfre, agencies reported on Friday.

When asked by Voice of America (VoA) about the fact that assistance from China and Russia was greeted by high-ranking Serbian officials—the president and prime minister—which was not the case when assistance from the US and the EU arrived, he said that he didn’t have the dome to take part in tabloid discussions.

Godfrey also reminded that Serbia received assistance from both the EU and Norway, as was the case with the UAE, Turkey and other countries, and reminded that the USA had already delivered 6,000 COVID-19 tests, as well as that it would be providing an additional 1.35 million euros in assistance.
