US Official: No Better Moment for a Kosovo Agreement

The status quo in the Balkans is unsustainable, and there is no better moment than this one to reach an agreement between Belgrade and Pristina, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Palmer said on Wednesday.

On marking the 20th anniversary of NATO’s entry into Kosovo territory, Palmer urged the Pristina authorities to intensify efforts to reach a comprehensive agreement on normalizing relations with Belgrade.

He also said to all, who believe that better conditions for dialogue will be created in the future, that there will be no better moment than the current one.

Palmer assessed that normalization of relations is crucial for the European future of both sides and for stability, prosperity and the future of the region.
