Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic declared on Thursday, taking part at the “World Mind” conference in Belgrade, that leaders of major European countries openly talk of speeding up the resolution of the Kosovo issue, but tell him something completely opposite in confidence.
“I want to tell you something in all sincerity: We discussed for five hours with very important representatives of very important European countries and after five hours of talk, one of them took me out of the room and told me ‘Aleksandar, I have an important message for you: continue to hesitate and to procrastinate everything’.
“When I met with other participants at that gathering, they all publicly said that we must speed things up in order to finally end the crisis. This means that they know what they want to do with us and that we don’t know how to tackle this problem.
“In this country, everyone knows that they are against any solution, but if you ask anyone what is the solution, they will tell you that there are none. But if someone suggests anything, all the others will say ‘no’.
“The situation in Pristina is even worse than that. They don’t understand that they cannot become an orderly country without Serbia, that they can do nothing without Serbia. They still live in the nineties [of last century] and talk about the Serb aggression. I don’t see a solution to that…”, Vucic said.
