Vucic, Thaci Verbally Clash in New York

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic used his visit to the seat of the United Nation (UN) in New York to verbally encounter many real and would-be political opponents and it was now the turn of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci whom Vucic “reminded” that “he is wandering around the halls of the building”, alluding to the fact that Kosovo is not a UN member and that Thaci is not an official participant at the session.

The Kosovo President responded by saying that he made it into the UN seat through the door, not the ceiling, and described Vucic’s statements as ridiculous because he too made it there “with the help of the Kosovo people”, referring to Kosovo Serbs who vote for him.

Vucic retorted that Serbia is a UN member and that Kosovo isn’t and that it is important that Albanians understand that in order to reflect upon the kind of future that they want.

“I will be speaking tomorrow in the grand hall of the UN General Assembly and when do you get to speak, Hashim? When have you been scheduled? Well, never. Regardless of whether you came in through the door or through the ceiling, Serbia is a member of the UN and you aren’t. It would be good for you to think about that and about the kind of future that you want, and whether or not you want a compromise or whether you want to continue to be spiteful”, Vucic concluded.
