Vucic Twitter Debate With UK Ambassador in Pristina

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic asked the UK ambassador to Kosovo Nicholas Abbott on Wednesday, whose elections did Albin Kurti and his Self-determination movement win in Kosovo, after the Albanian flag was posted during the Kurti – Abbott meeting in Pristina.

Vucic tweeted in Serbian Cyrillic that he would continue to ask Abbott until he received an answer. A little bit later, he repeated his question, this time in English:

“Question for the UK ambassador to Pristina: Whose elections did Kurti and his party won and whose flag it was under which you, Your Excellency, were so proudly photographed with Kurti? I’ll be asking you that until I get an answer,” Vucic wrote.

The answer came soon: “A recent photo of the Ambassador meeting one of the political leaders in Kosovo has attracted attention regionally. It is the Embassy’s job to engage with leading political actors in Kosovo. We did not choose how our interlocutor, acting in a party capacity, arranged his rooms”, the UKinKosovo Twitter account stated.

“Thank you for a clear answer @UKinKosovo. We all understood it perfectly”, Vucic said later on Wednesday.
