VIDEO/ Increase in energy prices in Kosovo, activist hits ERO board chairman

Activist Dibran Hoxha threw a cake at ERO Board Chairman Ymer Fejzullahu, as part of the "Not a Cent More" campaign, which aims to oppose the increase in the price of electricity in Kosovo.

"15% is not enough. No pasarán! After numerous requests from citizens, we have decided to 'sweeten' the ERO chairman with 15%. Mr. Ymer likes cakes with KEDS owners, so of course he must also like citizens' cakes. Congratulations", says the statement of the organizing group "Asnji Cent Ma Zumu".

The Energy Regulatory Office has announced that based on the results of its consultative report on maximum allowed revenues, the average increase in tariffs for consumers is expected to be another 15 percent.

The increase in the price of electricity has been opposed by citizens, businesses and opposition parties. The increase in energy bills is considered to harm citizens and businesses, while it is said to directly affect the deterioration of their well-being.

The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed with great concern the announcement by the Energy Regulatory Office of a 15% increase in electricity prices.
