The Archbishop of Albania, His Grace Joan Pelushi, was enthroned this Saturday at noon at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ. During his speech, he emphasized that the dictatorship could destroy the outer walls of the churches, but could not destroy the faith and hearts of the believers. His Grace Joan also recalled the contribution of his predecessors and honored the memory of the late Archbishop, Anastas Janullatos, for preaching love and respect for every person.

He stressed that strengthening unity within the Orthodox Church is an indispensable need for achieving its goal and added that "preservation and protection by God is important for facing the new challenges that are coming, including technological ones." Bishop Joan also thanked the martyrs of freedom who contributed to spreading the light of faith, emphasizing that gratitude will bring one closer to God.
