Like today 177 years ago, the Arbëresh Jeronim De Rada founded the first Albanian newspaper "L'Albanese D'Italia" in Naples.

On February 23, 1848, the first issue of the newspaper "L'albanese d'Italia" (The Albanian of Italy) was published, which defended the rights of Albanians, listing facts and arguments from the history of Albania, with the aim of making public opinion in Italy and beyond.

The National History Museum commemorates this significant event today, emphasizing that the press of the time contributed to the social, cultural and political fields during the period of the Albanian National Renaissance.

The Arbëresh press was born as a need and necessity for the very national and social existence of tens of thousands of descendants of the generations that emigrated from various Albanian regions, settling in Italian territories in the second decade of the 15th century, especially after the death of Skanderbeg,
