The match between England and Norway risks being postponed, this is the reason

Extreme weather conditions in the United States continue to create problems for the 2026 World Cup. This time, the quarterfinal between England and Norway, scheduled to be played in Miami, is in question.

According to meteorological forecasts, the area is expected to be hit by very high temperatures, high humidity, and severe electrical storms at the exact time the match is scheduled to take place.

Although the thermometer is expected to hit around 34 degrees Celsius, high humidity will cause the perceived temperature to reach 43-44 degrees, significantly increasing the risk for footballers and fans.

Besides the scorching heat, the biggest concern is the lightning storms predicted over the stadium in Miami. According to FIFA regulations, if a lightning strike is detected within a radius of 13 kilometers from the stadium, the match must be suspended or postponed immediately.

Before the start of the match, referees will conduct special heat index measurements, 90 and 60 minutes before the challenge, to assess whether the weather conditions pose a risk to the health of the players and whether the match can take place as planned.
