The African heat returns, the thermometer reaches 40 degrees this weekend

After several days with temperatures at normal July values, the African heat returns to the country starting Thursday.

"They will increase day by day, starting on Thursday at 35 degrees, then 37, 38 and until Sunday when they reach 39 and 40 degrees. There will be a break from the middle of next week, a brief cool down and then hot African masses," said weather forecaster Lajda Porja.

The heat will include several regions, where temperatures will be higher.

"Shkodra, Elbasan, Berat, Gjirokastra, then Fier and Tirana," said Porja.

Due to the presence of wind, the risk of fires, especially in some areas, is expected to be high. "High temperatures will favor the wind parameter, especially in Lezha and Vlora, and the wind will be present and will be a problem for fires," said Porja.

According to weather forecasters, July is expected to be extremely hot above normal values, also influenced by the El Nino effect that is already active.
