Mother of 15-year-old involved in rape of 17-year-old: She has mental health

Amidst the reactions to the serious incident of the rape of a 17-year-old girl in Fier, the parents of one of the 15-year-old girls involved in the case have also spoken out.
They say they first learned about the incident through the media and were then accompanied to the police station to give their testimony.

With tears in her eyes, the 15-year-old's mother publicly apologizes to the abused girl and her family, expressing deep regret for what happened. "The police took me, I don't know anything. I apologize to the parents of that girl. If it had happened to me, I would apologize 100 times. I am very touched, as if they had done it to my child. I am very touched. Yes, we took the girl to visit and she is having problems. The school psychologist took her, but they didn't do anything. I ask for the girl's full recovery, because we have mental health problems and I have no financial situation at all. I can't afford the treatment. I apologize to the girl's family and that girl," the 15-year-old's mother told Top Channel.

The parents say that their daughter was diagnosed with mental health problems 3 months ago and that they have long sought help from institutions for her treatment. According to them, she had previously displayed episodes of aggression, but requests for support have not received the necessary response.

Faced with the economic inability to finance specialized treatment, the family calls on state institutions to intervene and assist in the girl's treatment, in the hope that she will receive the necessary medical and psychological care.

The parents emphasize that they do not intend to justify their daughter's actions, but request that, in addition to legal responsibility for the incident, the need to treat her health problems not be neglected.
