Greece/ Albanian woman dies after giving birth

A 35-year-old Albanian woman has died a day after giving birth to her baby in Greece. The victim is Vjosana Mana, who underwent a planned cesarean section. According to her husband, Eneo Rushita, initially everything seemed to have gone normally and he took the baby in his arms immediately after the birth.

In a statement for the show "Albania Live", Rushita said that he was later informed that his wife had suffered an internal hemorrhage. He claims that doctors put Vjosana through a second surgical intervention and removed her uterus, without informing her in advance of this decision.

According to him, medical staff had repeatedly assured him that her condition was under control. However, the next morning, the 35-year-old died. Rushita states that she was later informed that her lungs were filled with fluid, while the results of the tests have not yet been made public.

"Vjosana had planned a cesarean section. I am requesting an investigation because we had a planned birth on June 24th. Everything seemed normal at first, they brought the baby to me and told me there was internal bleeding, and everything was under control.

At 3 pm I see the doctor and he tells me that they had put her in a second operation and removed her uterus, without contacting me. After the birth they told me that they had operated on her again and had to remove her uterus because she had suffered a hemorrhage.

"At first they told me there was nothing to worry about. The next morning she passed away, her lungs were filled with water. We are waiting for the tests, they haven't come out yet. We haven't received any response from the authorities ," said the 35-year-old's husband, Eneo Rushita.
